STARS IN STEREO

Picture
This new band (Wikipedia page-less) has 5 members:

Bec Hollcraft
Ryan "Frogs" McCormack
Jordan McGraw
Drew Langan
Justin Siegal

My favourite songs are:

 "Red Eyed Romance"
"The Broken"
"All Together"

They have released one album...

From the very first song of their self-named debut album, you will be struck by Bec Hollcraft's remarkable vocals and the overall skill of the band. They rock their way from "The Broken" through "Queen of Catastrophe," never pausing in their
clean-cut sound following the genre of pop rock. Bringing home their music proved semi-fatal to my sanity after my sister discovered the album in a stack of CD's and spent the next few weeks of her life singing "Violence." Nevertheless, my love for SinS has not lessened for they are an amazing band, definitely worth checking out.

Band of the Week- Halestorm

HALESTORM

Picture
Halestorm is a band from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, that formed in 1998.

There are 4 members:

 Lzzy Hale
Arejay Hale
Joe Hottinger
Josh Smith

This year they won a Grammy Award for their song "Love Bites (So Do I)" as the Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance.

 They have released 2 albums:

Halestorm and The Strange Case Of...

My favourite songs by Halestorm are:

 "Love Bites (So Do I)"
"I Miss the Misery"
"Freak Like Me"

Prepare yourself, as you pop those ear-buds in, ease back in your chair, and turn on "What Were You Expecting?" for the inevitable shock of just how good Halestorm is. The vocalist, Lzzy Hale, has an intense, rich voice that can sing
ballads like "Beautiful With You" just as easily as growl out "Mz. Hyde." Arejay Hale, the drummer, has a talent on the drum kit like none I have ever seen before. He probably was born with a drum stick in hand. And the guitar parts work so well with the music! It's an amazing experience all together.

Check out the Halestorm YouTube Channel and the Official Halestorm Website!

 You won't regret it!

Actually, forget the kindness and easy-going exclamation points. GO GET THIS ALBUM OR YOU WILL REGRET IT TILL THE DAY HADES KICKS YOU OUT OF THE UNDERWORLD.

Band of the Week- Serj Tankian

SERJ TANKIAN

Picture
Serj Tankian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, and he grew up in Los Angeles. He is also lead singer of the band System of a
Down
. Serj Tankian writes music that can be classified as Indie Rock, Alternative, or Experimental.

Serj Tankian has released 4 solo albums....

Elect the Dead, Imperfect Harmonies, Harakiri, and Orca.
Picture
Serj Tankian excels in writing lyrics that are incredibly powerful and deep.

He can write the  most amazing political protest songs, often influenced by the horror of his childhood in a war-torn Beirut and the genocide in Armenia, along with ridiculous actions Americans are taken to.
Picture
My favourite songs my Serj Tankian are:

"Sky Is Over"
"Butterfly"
"The Unthinking Majority"
"Honking Antelope"
"Yes It's Genocide"
"Empty Walls"
"Harakiri"
"Disowned Inc."
"Peace Be Revenged"
"Occupied Tears"
Picture
Serj Tankian uses the most intricate layered rhythms, beats, and sounds that nestle so perfectly into each other and mold fittingly to his unique vocals. It's a mind-blowing experience to listen to his music, and a life-changing experience to read his lyrics.

I suggest you take a look at Serj Tankian (actually just listen, he's a little creepy looking...), you won't be disappointed. Check out Serj Tankian's Official Website and Serj Tankian's YouTube Channel!

Band of the Week- Seether

SEETHER

Seether is a Seattle Sound-esque band from South Africa that formed in 2002.
Picture
Seether has three members:

 Shaun Morgan
Dale Stewart
John Humphrey

Seether has released 5 albums:

Disclaimer, Disclaimer II, Karma and Effect, Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces,
and Holding Onto Strings Better Left to Fray.
Picture
Seether was originally called Saron Gas, and under that name, they released the album Fragile.

 My favourite songs by Seether:

"Burrito"
"Roses"
"Here and Now"
"Gasoline"
"Broken" featuring Amy Lee*
"Country Song"
"Fur Cue"
"Fake It"
*Amy Lee is the lead singer of EVANESCENCE

Seether has the awesome-est vocals, although that was not the case when I saw them in concert opening for Bush and Nickelback with My Darkest Days (MDD sucked, by the way). They need another member, though, because in concert they
can't move around. Three is a limiting number. This is especially bothersome when it comes to the song "Roses" which has two guitar parts. Problem: they have one guitarist. That means they can't play it in concert. :(

Check out the Seether YouTube Channel and the Official Seether Website!

Check out Seether! You'll be glad you did!
