I only know about 20 of the bands playing! So, if anybody knows one of these bands, please let me know which I should be up in the front moshing to, and which I should be shoving earplugs in for.

I look forward to your input! It will make figuring out my attendance schedule so much easier!

What I'm looking forward to...

Young Guns
All That Remains
Asking Alexandria
Skillet
We As Human
Halestorm
Memory of a Melody
Bush
Device

Check out the Rocklahoma Website!

Look forward to a ton of concert reviews within two weeks after the concert

Concert Review- Halestorm

STARS IN STEREO

Wow! I was super impressed! I went there not really expecting much of the first band who released their first album 11 days before, but they blew me away. They all seemed like professional musicians, and the lead singer (a girl!!) was professionally trained and had an amazing voice.

This was the best picture we could get due to the odd light things on stage.
YOUNG GUNS

Yes...They were amazing this time, too! No...They could only play for 30 minutes! Wtf Bullet? How could you do that to the amazing band?! When they performed the song "Bones," the audience went absolutely crazy and yelled "I feel it in my bones!" at the top of their lungs. It was a very fun show!

HALESTORM

Well...Being a newfound lover of Halestorm, I was thrilled by their performance. They started with their drummer (Arjay Hale) walking on in an odd skeleton party suit and banging a tambourine. Then, the rest of the band came on and started with "Freak Like Me." In the middle of the concert, we were treated to an amazing drum solo, parts of which were executed without sticks, and also with giant sticks the size of baseball bats. It was quite entertaining. Lzzy Hale, the lead singer, also sang "Break In" with just her voice and her playing the piano until the very end when the band softly melded into the sound and slowly crescendo-ed into the next song. Halestorm closed with (my personal favourite) "I Miss the Misery." It was an amazing performance.

In the background, you can kind of see Arjay Hale in his strange skeleton suit.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

At the end of Halestorm, I thought How will Bullet be able to match up to the fabulous opening bands? Turns out that they couldn't. Now don't get me wrong, it was nothing like Hellyeah, it was just an inferior performance compared to the opening acts. Their music all sounded the same and their musicianship was mediocre. They had very uninteresting guitar solos that for some reason got everyone very excited. There was a VERY INTENSE mosh pit. It got so violent that the bouncers had to come and drag people out. One drunk guy was getting chased by a bouncer and he tripped and fell, and grabbed my shirt to try at steadying himself, but instead made me fall as well and screwed up my back and bruised my ribs. That was painful. I wasn't even in the mosh pit and I got hurt (and it's a good thing I don't go in, tempting as it may be. People who are 5 feet tall tend to be mercilessly trampled.)!!! As disappointing as Bullet was, it was still a performance that a majority of the audience enjoyed.

Thank you all for a great performance on Friday!

Concert Review- Maidens of Metal II

MAIDENS OF METAL II

Unfortunately, due to my sleepy dad, I was unable to see the whole concert, but I will be reviewing what I did see.

LETHAL FIRE

Well, Lethal Fire, you would be so much better if you just got yourself a different vocalist! I'm sorry to say it, but trying to scream into a microphone when you just sound like mumbling is NOT appealing to any audience.

But... the rest of the band sounded really good! They definitely would have potential under a different vocalist (perhaps Denis Tvrdik). The coolest thing about Lethal Fire was definitely that the drummer was a girl

MOCKING OF THE TRINITY

An excellent show, I must say. The lead screamer in this one was a girl, and very good at what she did. It was fascination to hear a girl scream so low and so loud. It seemed very...unnatural. She was wearing a very provocative spandex suit with holes in the back that made her seem menacing. That, combined with the screaming made her seem very bad-ass.

They were a good band, and enjoyable.

INSENTIENT

I really enjoyed these guys! The girls in this band were the guitarists, one of which was also the lead screamer (singer?). They had an excellent sound, and the audience had a very approving reaction to their performance which is always fun to watch, especially when the moshing starts.

ASHENTIDE

Ashentide was a totally different experience. Aside from the really annoying short guitarist who spoke with a fake Irish accent and dropped the f-bomb more times then I thought was possible in a 45 minute period, they were my favourite of the night! This band had a girl as the lead singer, but here's the catch, she SANG! This girl was definitely professionally trained.
They sounded a bit like Evanescence. Also, they had a girl keyboardist who added a different sound to the band that differed from the other performers there that night.
I really like Ashentide, and I suggest YouTube-ing them. They know what they're doing.

Thank you all for a great performance! Sorry I missed out on many of you guys (sorry to...Death Inquisition, Syrebris, Consume the Fire, Harlequin, and Shewolf, among others.).
