Throw The Fight, Stars In Stereo, & Black Veil Brides
at SOMA

Throw The Fight really had nothing original about them, and I wasn't very impressed. They had some energy, but they had no real talent. It was still incredibly fun to rock out to them, they just weren't original.

Stars In Stereo were...amazing! Bec Hollcraft definitely has become more provocative since the last time I saw them, but they developed in stage presence dramatically. They played three new songs off their soon-to-be-released album, which all were EXCELLENT. SinS--of course--played "The Broken" and "Violence," but being pressed for time didn't play very many of their bests. Bec's voice is just something special, so clear and with such wild range, it's hard to believe it's real. She's so clearly professionally trained, and her voice works so well with the band, it's just awesome!

Black Veil Brides weren't wearing make-up. I don't know why, but Andy Biersack is HOT without it, and he knows it. BVB rocked! They only got to play 40 minutes...and I was so sad when it ended. They played "Fallen Angels" and "In The End," but to my surprise didn't play "Knives and Pens," the very first song I ever heard by BVB and one of their most popular. They did a lot of posing, which was kind of annoying, but on the other hand they did a lot of background singing and audience interaction which isn't super common, and quite fun.  I had a blast! There was this one-woman mosh-pit who, no matter how many times the guys next to me crowd-surfed her, showed up and jammed with herself. It became a bit much when she took off her clothes, but we just couldn't get rid of her (we think she was on something VERY strong). It was a crazy-amazing experience and I loved it!

Thank you to all the bands that played! Apologies to Bullet For My Valentine for not being able to stay for your performance.

All That Remains, HIM, & Volbeat

All That Remains, HIM, & Volbeat
at the Hollywood Palladium

To no surprise of mine, ATR rocked the house. There was this crowd of girls who fangirled over the lead singer throughout the performance. That was really entertaining. Their fan base in LA is quite small, and there were a handful of ATR fans in the audience. That didn't stop them from putting on an amazing show. ATR started out the show as early as possible with my two favourite songs by them ("The Last Time" and "Stand Up"). They quickly transitioned into their screaming songs and ended back at their starting theme, framing the whole performance perfectly. At one point during the show, I managed to wedge in front of the 6'2" body builder in front of me and squeezed to the front. Because of my obvious youth I caught attention of the rhythm guitarist who turned to the bassist and started making short jokes, since we both are very short girls. I thought that was hilarious. I did get a chance, after their set, to speak for a minute or so with the rhythm guitarist, who is incredibly friendly (and buff).

HIM did not impress me, sorry to say. They just sound the same throughout the set, and they seemed to be trying to succeed as just a pretty-faced-lead-singer type band, which does not appeal to me unless there music is actually good.

Volbeat. Wow. There may have been a creepy drunk guy bothering the heck out of me the whole time, but they were so good that I didn't mind just ignoring him. The vocals of Volbeat are so unique and just GOOD, and their guitarist is frickin' amazing, and well, it's just an awesome show! I LOVE this band, especially live.

Sorry for the delay in posting! High school is a new amount of work for me that I am not used to yet.
