The Boys Are Back!
Opening band? Nope...Opening DJ! He walks off the stage and five minutes later the ORIGINAL SABBATH (minus the drummer) walks on stage for a long 2 hour set. Imagine every seat in the whole venue. Full. Screaming fans with grey beards and canes (hahaha no canes or walkers). Ozzy's voice was the same as it ever was, and you still will find no better guitarist than Iomme.
They enthusiastically ran through their classics including their first song ever written as a group: "Black Sabbath." Interspersed in their reps of the classics, they delved into "God Is Dead?" and "Age of Reason" off their new release, 13.
At times Ozzy took to attempting to jump, but his drug-destroyed body could not handle, and he ended up looking like Miley Cyrus at the VMAs.
Now to the drum solo... My dad and I suspect that the extensive drum solo was mainly place in the middle of the show so that the other members could go pee, but that wasn't really the great thing about the drum solo. It was FANTASTIC. It lasted over five minutes and INTENSE. I can't say a bigger compliment than that he gave Arejay Hale a run for his money.
It was hot at the venue. It wasn't really just hot, it was SO FUCKING HOT. We were sweating buckets, and Ozzy was dumping buckets of water on his head. My dad's shirt quickly became soaked, and when he walked out of the concert he looked like he'd gone swimming in his clothes.
The concert was AMAZING and an experience of a lifetime!
Oh yea, and thanks Black Sabbath!
